Behavioral Health Technician
About the role
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. This position involves assisting clients and staff, reviewing patient/client activities, ensuring compliance with fire and safety regulations, providing clerical support, and supporting recovery activities.
Responsibilities
- Aid clients and staff with team needs throughout the facility.
- Address the treatment process within organizational guidelines, philosophies, policies, and procedures.
- Review patient/client activities and report observations to staff.
- Ensure the building complies with fire and safety regulations.
- Offer clerical support to the treatment team, manage medication services, and handle patient scheduling and office/tech station management.
- Support the recovery activities of patients/clients and report observations to relevant staff members.
- Assist patients/clients from admission through discharge as required by site.
- Maintain and monitor patient/client medications as needed.
- Ensure the site/building adheres to safety regulations, including fire and guest/visitor expectations (site-specific).
- Drive as needed.
- Accompany residents/patients/clients to scheduled appointments, meetings, grocery stores, etc.
- Manage money according to program guidelines.
- Support toxicology screenings.
- Assist in achieving resident/patient/client vocational goals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Satisfy a state/license specific background check.
- Obtain current CPR certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience working in the addiction treatment industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Two years of experience understanding the Twelve Step Process/Program.
- Insurance requirements: No major motor vehicle violations within the past 3 years; no capital violations within the last 5 years; two years free from chemical use.

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience working in the addiction treatment industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Two years of experience understanding the Twelve Step Process/Program.
- Insurance requirements: No major motor vehicle violations within the past 3 years; no capital violations within the last 5 years; two years free from chemical use.

Salary range: USD $20.00 - USD $28.36 /Hr.
