Youth Basketball Coach
About the role
Pro Skills Basketball (PSB) is recruiting coaches for its Fall season in Chicago, IL, from September 7th to October 18th, 2026. The program offers teams for boys at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, with teams ranging from advanced to beginner skill levels. The Fall season includes 12 practices and 12 games.
Responsibilities
- Learn and adhere to PSB policies and procedures.
- Coach and develop players with a philosophy aligned with PSB's mission and values.
- Communicate regularly with team families about logistics and team activities.
- Be consistently engaged with PSB stakeholders and address concerns promptly with a positive attitude.
- Travel to various local practice gyms and tournaments as assigned.
- Work with PSB management to ensure appropriate staff coverage during absences.
Requirements
- High school basketball playing experience: 2 years minimum.
- Previous coaching experience: 1+ years (preferred).
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses a strong growth mindset, is a good teammate, believes in the educational experience of youth sports, and prioritizes education over wins and losses. They must also have strong mentorship and leadership skills, clearly communicate with kids and adults, strive to improve as a mentor, leader, and coach, and possess strong organizational skills.
