Young Adult Peer Mentor - The PLACE for Empowerment

Description And Responsibilities

The Young Adult Access Drop-In Center serves youth aged 16-26 in need of support and resources to achieve independence and accomplish life changes. Program staff will work with youth on their goals around mental health, economic stability, housing, substance use, employment preparation, self-advocacy, parenting and pregnancy, access to entitlements, or a number of other needs or barriers to success. The program also will make referrals to more intensive services within and outside of the Open Sky Network as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage young adults with mutual non-directive relationships.
• Provide support, and empower them to achieve their goals.
• Develop and facilitate groups in the access center.
• Aid in connecting young adults to services, entitlements, and appropriate support networks.
