York County Deputy Sheriff

Job Summary

We are seeking organized and detail-oriented candidates to join our team as Deputy Sheriffs. This position is open to both new hires and lateral transfers.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Sheriff and other law enforcement personnel
• Assist with investigations and evidence collection
• Participate in patrols and traffic control
• Respond to emergency calls and incidents
• Conduct security screenings and background checks
• Perform administrative tasks and record keeping

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Maine driver’s license
• Successful completion of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (MCJA) Basic Course and Field Training Officer (FTO) program
• Ability to pass a background check
• Pass a physical fitness test

Qualifications

• Experience in law enforcement or related field preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations
