Yoga Instructor - Contract
Scope of Work
The Contract Yoga Instructor plans and leads onsite yoga classes designed to support employee wellness, stress reduction, mobility, flexibility, and overall well-being. Classes are intended for employees of all fitness levels, including those with little or no prior yoga experience. The instructor will create a welcoming, inclusive environment that promotes safe movement, mindfulness, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, beginner-friendly yoga classes for employees in a workplace setting.
- Design and facilitate approximately 45-minute yoga sessions focused on:
- Stretching and flexibility
- Mobility and movement
- Stress reduction and relaxation
- Mindfulness and overall well-being
- Provide clear instruction and demonstrations of yoga poses, breathing techniques, and safe movement practices.
- Modify poses and movements to accommodate varying fitness levels, physical abilities, and individual needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages participation and confidence.
- Monitor participants during classes and provide appropriate guidance to promote safety and proper technique.
- Educate participants on basic yoga principles and wellness practices.
- Maintain current certifications, licenses, and insurance as required.
Qualifications
Education/Licenses
- Current Yoga Instructor Certification from a recognized yoga training program (200-hour certification minimum preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching group yoga classes.
- CPR/AED certification preferred.
- Current professional liability insurance required.
- Additional training or certifications in meditation, mindfulness, wellness coaching, or related disciplines are preferred.
Contract Terms
This is an independent contractor engagement. The selected contractor will be responsible for managing their own work methods, schedule, taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
Contract anticipated weekly schedule: Wednesdays 3:00pm – 3:45pm with potential of additional 2 days on Tuesday and Thursday.
The anticipated starting contract rate is $35 per hour; however, final compensation will be discussed during the interview process and may vary based on qualifications, experience, certifications, class formats, availability, and other relevant factors.
