Yardhorse Driver

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safe and efficient movement of trailers throughout the facility.
• Proper communication with the area supervisor to ensure the correct placement of trailers using the yard management system.
• Maintain attention to detail and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Provide outstanding service to Distribution Center.
• Perform safety checks of truck and trailers to ensure they are on proper working condition.
• Work for the Site GM and have staff authority of the Distribution Center personnel for Yard Horses.
• Keep the Site Manager and DC Operations personnel informed of all problems that affect efficient operations.
• Monitor all Yard Horse processes, including developing uniform procedures to improve Yard Horse efficiency and develop reporting to track performance.
• Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and standardized goals are met.
• Work with the Fleet Manager to ensure all Menard owned equipment is properly maintained and on the road at all times.
• Ensure proper training is in Learning Management System (LMS) and complete for each team member at your site.
• Make written request for additional equipment to support Site Yard Horse operations. Submit request with proper documentation to Site Manager, Distribution Center Operations Advisor and General Manager of Distribution for review.

Skills/Requirements

• Must possess a good driving record.
• Experience operating tractor/trailer or willingness to learn.
• CDL license preferred but not required.
• Enjoy working outdoors.
• Proof of valid driver’s license.
