Arizona Building Supply serves builders, contractors, and homeowners statewide by manufacturing truss and wall panel components and selling a wide range of building materials, including lumber, windows, doors, hardware, and trim. They also operate regional home centers offering building materials and home improvement supplies.
About the role
The Yard/Warehouse Rep I is an entry-level position responsible for receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. This role involves the safe operation of a forklift to stock lumber and building materials while adhering to established work and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate safely and participate in maintaining a positive work environment.
- Assist warehouse associates and supervisors in keeping the work environment organized, including emptying trash receptacles and maintaining clean bays and staging areas.
- Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials, and provide excellent customer service.
- Count and record receipt of materials, and stock them in appropriate bins or storage locations.
- Assist inventory control in counting and organizing warehouse materials.
- Operate a forklift with foot and hand controls, including building outgoing orders or loading completed orders onto delivery equipment.
- Operate facility equipment as necessary (e.g., bander, power tools, various hand tools).
- Monitor inventory as required by location management.
- Maintain awareness of the work environment to produce error-free and damage-free results.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all company policies and standards.
- Adhere to the company’s commitment to workplace safety and complete assigned trainings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Skills
- Ability to perform basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
- Ability and willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
- Effective and professional communication with customers, employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
- Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g., smartphone, inventory control systems, and other necessary business applications).
