Yard Truck Driver - CDL Class A - Penske Logistics

Local, home daily position with an average W2 earnings of $74,100. Pay starts at $30 per hour with shift differential.

About the role

You will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks designed for comfort and safety, equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure safety for all. This role involves representing Penske and its clients, often driving branded trucks and wearing client uniforms.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management
• Couple and uncouple trailers
• Chock trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading and pulling from doors
• Shuttle trailers locally

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 3 PM start
• Weekends off

Penske pays every Friday, and most driving positions offer home-daily schedules.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL required
• Must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in your state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the past 5 years
• 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Must comply with all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• English language proficiency (required by federal law for this role)
• Must work the required schedule and location
• Must complete Penske employment application, background investigation, and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see and hear, with specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting required
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
• Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area
• Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
