Yard Operator

About the role

Ziegler CAT is seeking a full-time Yard Operator to oversee equipment entering and leaving the yard, support customers, and maintain a clean and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Ships, receives, and operates equipment in the yard
• Promptly greets and assists customers in the yard
• Cleaning and prepping equipment for rental usage
• Maintains a clean and orderly yard that creates an efficient rental operations process
• Maintains grounds including snow removal
• Marks and maintains fuel and fluid levels for shops and branch machinery
• Parks equipment in designated areas, according to appearance and guidelines
• Works collaboratively on a team
• Provides assistance to other departments as requested
• Completes responsibilities safely

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience operating equipment or related duties
• Attention to detail, dependable, self-starter, customer-focused, efficient, and team player
• Ability to operate machinery and perform job duties safely required
• Clean driving record
• Knowledge of Ziegler’s rental equipment

Physical Requirements

• Push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.

Working Conditions

• May be indoor and/or outdoor
• Noise level may be loud at times
