Yard Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor trailers for loading and unloading products.
• Provide safety and security for the division yard and dock area.
• Complete tasks safely and in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Maintain and maneuver equipment on yard prior to dispatch.
• Ensure the safe movement of equipment around the yard and warehouse.
• Work flexible hours as needed.
• Maintain equipment while on site.
• Drop and hook tractor to trailer.
• Inspect truck for defects, before and after trips, and submit reports.
• Verify unit initials and numbers accurately.
• Spot and pull trailers/containers from dock doors.
• Ensure trailers and loads maintain cold chain temperature.
• Guard and seal all loads.
• Handle requirements of the quality management system during transport and storage activities.

Qualifications

• High School Degree.
• Ability to use computer for yard tracking.
• 2+ years of work experience in related fields.
• CDL and Commercial driving experience preferred.
• 1 year of commercial driving experience (preferred).
• 1 year of driving experience (preferred).

Skills

• Computer proficiency for yard tracking.
• Commercial driving skills.
• Attention to detail for inspections and load verification.
• Knowledge of cold chain temperature maintenance.
• Ability to follow safety protocols.
