Ryder is hiring a Non-CDL Yard Driver in Raleigh, NC. The position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.
Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Deal with day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
- Accurately pick and pack, audit, tote induction, stage products, and load/unload trucks.
- Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard, but cannot drive on public roads.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and logs, yard inventory, and move records.
- Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Must have verifiable driving experience in "like" equipment: 9 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years.
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Yard Driver Examination.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Basic level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, if applicable to site.
- Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to: Follow written and/or oral instructions, read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures, work independently and as a member of a team, lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs., stand for long periods of time, work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts, work using health and safety methods, create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors), read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated, meet Ryder's driving qualifications.
