About the role
We are looking for a Yard Jockey (non-CDL) who is eager to grow and reap the rewards of joining the US FOODS® family. This role involves moving trailers, staging equipment, and supporting warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
- Keep assigned equipment coupled
- Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor
- Load, unload, or merge loads between environments
- Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers
- Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
- Place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse
- Ensure all equipment is paired and ready for next day's deliveries
- Work with mechanics nightly
- Attend all required company meetings
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have valid driver's license issued by state of residence
- Minimum of six months non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
- Must be able to pass DOT physical
- Must be able to read and communicate in English (e.g., understand highway traffic signs, respond to inquiries, complete reports)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to 80+ lbs repetitively during each shift
- Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions
Schedule
Sunday - Thursday, 5:00 PM until job completion (times subject to change based on company needs).
Pay
$21.00/hour.
