Job Summary

The Yard Hostler will be responsible for operating yard trucks and trailers to move and position equipment in the yard. They will work closely with the operations team to ensure that equipment is properly positioned and ready for loading and unloading.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate yard trucks and trailers to move equipment within the yard
• Ensure that equipment is properly positioned for loading and unloading
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure that equipment is in good working condition
• Keep the yard clean and organized
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment when needed
• Communicate with the operations team to ensure that equipment is ready when needed
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
• Discern suitable vehicle and container placements
• Maneuver vehicles and containers between areas of our facility
• Assist other Yard Hostlers by directing their vehicular movements, if needed
• Transport materials to the weighing platform
• Clean and refuel designated vehicles
• Sanitize containers before and after every shipment
• Inspect vehicles to discern potential maintenance needs
• Tend to or report on maintenance requirements
• Stow equipment away after their use
• Maintain orderliness, communication, and safety in the yard

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more
• Must pass an interview with our Warehouse Manager before moving forward with the employment application process

Yard Hostler will receive a competitive hourly rate and are eligible for an attractive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and 401(K) after completion of an eligibility period.

Schedule

Flexible schedules are offered at our location and will be discussed during the hiring process. Shifts may vary depending on warehouse package volume and business needs. This is a full-time position with 3 openings available across 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift.
