Yard Foreman

About the role

Archer Western Construction is seeking a Yard Foreman for the West Bartow Reclamation Facility in Kingston, GA. The Yard Foreman will supervise, coordinate, and oversee daily general operations related to the Yard/segment of the project, including operating heavy equipment such as Front-End Loader, Dozer, and Excavator. Responsibilities

• Control the inventory of the yard including construction tools and equipment
• General understanding of maintenance of construction equipment and tools to provide service as needed
• Record information such as production or operational data on specified forms or reports
• Maintain tracking logs for yard deliveries and inspect tools/equipment
• Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction or extraction activities, using hand tools or other equipment
• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction site to verify safety and ensure specifications are met
• Adhere to safety protocol and work in a drug-free environment
• Train and supervise workers on company policies, safety practices, regulations, and procedures

Requirements

• 3 years Construction Foreman experience preferred
• 3-5 years of verifiable construction experience required
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities; experience managing crews and subcontractors preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with crew members, project management, subcontractors, and vendors
• Ability to effectively read and understand work plans
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and desire to learn
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods
• Knowledge of operating procedures for loading and unloading materials
• Forklift Certification preferred
• Computer skills and proficiency with Excel and Word
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
