Yard Driver (CDL Required)

Responsibilities

• Moving and Operation of Tractor/Trailer
• Walk the yard to identify and document vehicle defects.
• Communicate maintenance needs to D&S Team Leaders.
• Obtain tractor/trailer list from D&S, record odometer, hub readings, and engine hours from equipment, and send to lease company.
• Ensure trailers loaded with refrigerated products are at an adequate temperature.
• Auxiliary trailer unloading and repositioning tasks.
• Shuttle tractor/trailers to and from logistic/lease companies.
• Assist with backhauls and driver support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 21 years old
• Six months of verifiable CMV driving experience, one year preferred
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License [CDL] with Air Brakes
• Maintain a DOT Med Cert
• Meet defined MVR standards to drive company commercial motor vehicle
• Pass a background check every three years on anniversary date
• Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
• Climb stairs
• Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
• Perform heavy pushing/pulling of product
• Work in refrigerated conditions [33-38 degrees]
• Outdoor weather conditions [rain, sleet, heat, snow, etc.]
• Exposure to loud machinery
