Yard Driver

About the role
As a Yard Driver, you will play a key role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our yard operations. This position involves moving trailers, performing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with warehouse team members to maximize output.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on the yard truck.
- Maintain radio or telephone contact for coordination.
- Move trailers in and out of docks in a timely manner.
- Maintain the yard tractor and warehouse in an organized and clean manner to ensure safety and good manufacturing processes.
- Interact with warehouse team members to maximize output and efficiency.
- Inspect truck and trailer equipment to ensure road worthiness and notify supervisor of current or anticipated repairs.
- Load trucks as needed.
- Use RF Computer System for Trailer Inventory Control.
- Perform all functions of a Warehouse Associate.
Requirements
- Class A CDL with 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
- Possess a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, decode, and decipher freight coding.
- Must conform with DMV and DOL driving requirements to operate hand trucks and forklifts.
- Ability to perform tasks in inclement weather conditions.

Pay
Base pay: $28.50/hour. Additional compensation includes a $2.00/hour shift differential for night shift and a $1.50/hour premium for weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
Schedule
12-hour night shift on a 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on rotation.
