Yard Assistant

About the Role

Primoris Services Corporation, a leading provider of critical infrastructure services, is seeking a Yard Assistant for its Q3 Contracting division in Little Canada, MN. This position supports daily yard operations, primarily at the Little Canada traffic yard, and ensures all metro traffic yards are stocked and clean.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an adequate supply of “ready to use” Type 1 flashers.
• Cut old sandbags and fill new sandbags; maintain a clean, organized stock.
• Assist with keeping traffic control signs and devices neatly stored and ready for use.
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies while operating a company vehicle.
• Report any shortage of materials or yard supplies to your Yard Lead.
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while in any traffic yard or on a job site.
• Travel weekly to other metro traffic yards to transport used or damaged signs/traffic devices back to Little Canada for repair.
• Cover duties for the Yard Lead when needed.

End of Season (Winter) Tasks

• Mix salt into sand for winter salt-sandbags (only in dry conditions).
• Keep filled salt-sandbags covered and protected from moisture.
• Assist with removing A2 lights from Type 1 flashers.
• Remove batteries from A2 lights and store; stack flashers neatly.
• Repair signs.

Start of Season (Spring) Tasks

• Re-install batteries into A2 lights.
• Reattach A2 lights to Type 1 flashers.
• Stack and organize flashers neatly for deployment.
• Replenish sandbag stock.
• Build signs.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Solid communication skills and reasoning ability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
• Participation in drug testing programs (Primoris Gas Operations is a drug-free environment).
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Class E Hard Hat
• Class 2 Safety Vest
• Safety-Toe Work Boots (above-ankle, puncture-resistant, equivalent to leather)
• ANSI Z87 Rated Safety Glasses
• Cut-Resistant Gloves

Schedule
