About the role
STS Technical Services is hiring a Yard Assembler in Liberty, Missouri, to support equipment handling, yard organization, inspections, minor repairs and assembly operations in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working around equipment, using hand and power tools, supporting loading and unloading activities and helping keep machines, parts and work areas organized and production-ready.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing equipment from trucks
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing parts safely
- Perform inspections on incoming machines
- Document equipment condition
- Take and upload equipment photos
- Organize machines and maintain orderly yard parking
- Perform minor repairs on used equipment
- Use jumper cables or jump packs to start machines with dead batteries
- Keep the yard clean and free of litter and debris
- Assemble parts, wires, hoses and hydraulic components using power tools and manual techniques
- Install accessories including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights
- Safely operate an overhead crane to position parts
- Use hand and pneumatic tools including wrenches, hammers and torque guns
- Measure materials and components accurately using tape measures and related tools
- Drill and tap holes for wires, hoses and small components
- Read schematics, blueprints and Standard Work Instructions
- Identify required options and assembly requirements
- Lift and stack subassemblies and parts weighing up to 35 pounds independently
- Participate in team lifts for parts weighing up to 60 pounds
- Cross-train and work in multiple assembly areas as needed
- Follow written and verbal work instructions
- Maintain attention to detail and established quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow safety rules and 6S standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required by business and production demands
- Ability to maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- At least six months of experience in manufacturing or general labor
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sustain pushing or pulling up to 30 pounds
- Ability to bend, kneel and climb
- Ability to safely use tools and equipment
- Visual and auditory ability required for safe equipment operation and communication
Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing and production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery and temperature fluctuations. Proper personal protective equipment must be worn when required.
