Position Focus
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the CCAM, articulating a compelling vision for the Center at Yale College and beyond. Support collaboration across arts and technology; supervise CCAM staff; ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures; and convene and work closely with the CCAM Advisory Committee.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead CCAM as an inter-department and inter-school resource for creative project planning, technical guidance, training, and mentorship.
- Serve as a primary partner to Yale College departments, programs and student organizations, aligning CCAM resources, programming, and services with student and faculty needs.
- Collaborate with campus arts and technology units, including the Schools of Architecture, Art, Drama, and Music, and the Center for Innovation, Engineering and Design (CEID).
- Program CCAM-hosted courses and manage resources to support constituent curricula.
- Develop and lead programming that bridge creative practice, digital media, and technology-enabled learning.
- Lead ongoing assessment of existing programs and the development of new programs and services.
- Teach up to one course per year (as applicable per unit and appointment terms).
Leadership and Management
- Lead, supervise, and support CCAM staff, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
- Ensure that CCAM resources and offerings align with and complement the University’s overall technology strategy.
- Lead budget planning, oversight, and strategic management of CCAM resources.
- Develop and oversee compliance with appropriate policies and procedures.
- Convene, facilitate, and support regular Advisory Committee meetings.
- Manage committee communications; support agenda-setting and follow-up.
- Conduct outreach to core constituencies; present on CCAM activities, issues, and priorities; and ensure effective committee operations.
External Relations
- In partnership with Yale Development, support donor stewardship activities and contribute to donor communications and reporting as requested.
- Maintain relationships with external partners that advance Yale College and Yale University priorities.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and interact effectively with diverse constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Strong managerial and leadership skills, with proven experience in supervising and motivating teams, managing budgets, and leading complex projects.
- Superior organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, exhibit sound judgment, and adapt to changing circumstances and environments.
Preferred Skills And Abilities
- Arts professional with demonstrated practical experience in one or more emerging media fields, academic instruction, and arts management.
- Terminal degree in arts-area field of study.
- Clear and demonstrable understanding of a wide array of creative digital media practices and presentation methods, with an openness and vision for experimental, exploratory, and alternative production modalities.
- Minimum of five years of experience working in higher education arts-area leadership position.
