About the role
Operates C-arm x-ray equipment during interventional pain management procedures and assists with nursing care of the patient.
Responsibilities
- Accurate performance of C-arm procedures.
- Monitors C-arm performance and reports malfunctions to the Department Manager and Clinical Engineering.
- Monitors compliance of all Associates and physicians with radiology safety standards including radiation protection guidelines and monitoring.
- Assists in the care of patients as directed by a Registered Nurse.
- Responsible for cleaning, restocking, and ordering as directed.
- Assists with the flow of patients from check-in to discharge.
- Assist with office functions.
- Interacts with other departments to assure continuity of care.
Requirements
- One-year interventional pain management experience.
- Graduation from an approved Radiologic Technologist program.
- Registered under the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry.
- ARRT certified.
Skills
- Skilled in using a variety of medical and nursing equipment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Possesses interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians, and other health system Associates.
- Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patient served.
