X-RAY TECH / CT TECH

About the role

Physical location: Benton, KY. Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6 am–6 pm. The position offers higher starting wages, excellent benefits and PTO (pay based on experience).

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional
• Explain what will happen during the CT scan to patients
• Position patients properly to take the necessary images
• Administer IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging
• Examine images to ensure they’re usable
• Update patient medical information
• Clean and maintain CT scan equipment
• Keep inventory of CT scan supplies and place orders for restock as required
• Assist with X‑rays as needed

Requirements

• Deep familiarity with CT scan equipment
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, biology and how to administer IVs
• Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot issues with CT scan equipment performance
• Observational skills to notice any problems with images
• Strong oral communication skills to field patients’ questions and collaborate with other members of the care team
• Organizational skills to maintain an orderly supply area
• Mathematics skills to assist with contrast administration and maintain inventory
• Computer skills to operate CT scan equipment, use e‑mail and update medical records using health information systems software

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in radiologic technology
• Valid Radiologic Technologist license from the state of Kentucky
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current BLS Certification
