About the role

Current Opening: One Full-time position (36-40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Cookbook the Computed Tomography (CT), selecting safe level and proper equipment settings for patient habitus tolerance, and pain, constantly evaluating patient and equipment for best image and safety for best results.
  • Perform imaging such as brain, thoracic, abdomen, pelvis, bone and joint, vascular, pulmonary embolus, (entire body) biopsy, guidance, etc.
  • Start IV’s, infuse contrast, monitor patient, etc.
  • Negotiate PACS transfer and storage.
  • Comfort patient and monitors vitals.
  • Cookbook the General Xray, selecting safe level and proper equipment settings for patient habitus tolerance, and pain, constantly evaluating patient and equipment for best image and safety for best results.
  • Perform Chest, Pelvis, Upper/Lower Extremity radiographs etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Monitor patient and keep patient comfortable while performing exam.
  • Negotiate PACS transfer and storage.
  • Cookbook the Fluoroscopy, selecting safe level and proper equipment settings for patient habitus tolerance, and pain, constantly evaluating patient and equipment for best image and safety for best results.
  • Perform Esophagram, Upper GI, Arthrogram procedures etc.
  • Monitor patient and keep patient comfortable while performing exam.
  • Negotiate PACS transfer and storage.
  • Cookbook the Dexa Scans, selecting safe level and proper equipment settings for patient habitus tolerance, and pain, constantly evaluating patient and equipment for best image and safety for best results.
  • Perform Spine, Hip, Forearm scans etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Monitor patient and keep patient comfortable while performing exam.
  • Negotiate PACS transfer and storage.
  • Cookbook the patient arrival, greet patients, make sure their order is correct for the chief complaint, evaluate patient for safety, ability to tolerate exam, contraindications, informed consents, patient education.
  • Input patient data into HIS/RIS.
  • Input charges for procedures performed.
  • Gathers data as needed.
  • Coordinate and schedule patients and maintain department inventory.
  • Maintains records according to established Federal, State and Hospital guidelines (NRC), (FDA), (OSHA), (Wyoming Radiologic Safety).
  • Interacts and is cooperative with patients, Radiologists, Physicians and hospital staff to ensure a positive environment.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures as designated by Federal and State guidelines to ensure minimal exposure of technologist, patient and care of the equipment.
  • Completes follow up on the images as necessary.
  • Be available to take call after hours, during holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • An Associate of Science degree or 2-year degree program
  • American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in good standing
  • 2 to 4 years experience in medical imaging
  • Computer and software experience
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines

Physical Demands/Requirements

  • Regularly lifting or move objects weighing 10 to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, stooping, bending, crouching, walking, standing and working with equipment
  • Subject to inside and possibly outside weather conditions
  • The employee is also subject to exposure to blood and body fluids, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, exposure to burns and radiant energy, exposure to explosives, exposure to toxic chemicals and biological agents
  • Work is performed in a very noisy environment
