X-Ray Machine Operator - Full-Time and PRN

About the Role

A versatile Medical Assistant / BXMO responsible for patient care, imaging, insurance verification, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, collect vitals and histories.
• Perform venipuncture and conduct point-of-care testing (COVID, flu, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist with minor procedures, wound care, EKGs, and nebulizer therapy.
• Perform basic X-ray exams (chest, extremities, spine), operate imaging equipment, and ensure safety and quality control.
• Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, collect co-pays, reconcile logs, and maintain EMR accuracy.
• Educate patients, provide discharge instructions, and assist with concerns empathetically.
• Support infection control, HIPAA, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and active national certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
• Active BLS certification or obtained during onboarding.
• License to perform X-ray exams (Limited Scope or BXMO) per state.
• At least 1+ year of MA experience, including insurance verification and patient registration.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and payer portals.
• Venipuncture skills and experience in urgent care or ER preferred.
• Successful drug screen and background check.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends and float to nearby centers as needed.
