About the role
Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures on selected anatomical sites within a limited scope. Prepares patients for exams and explains procedures to them. Follows strict guidelines about usage of radiographic equipment.
Limited x-ray machine operators must have excellent communication skills in order to elicit patient data and explain radiologic procedures. Must be mentally prepared to work with critically ill patients and trustworthy enough to maintain patient privacy. Limited x-ray machine operators also must be proficient at record keeping.
Learn and assist with other duties, including but not limited to, assigning imaging studies to medical chart numbers, assisting RRT (Registered Rad Tech) with patient call backs, screening questionnaires, etc.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures on selected anatomical sites within a limited scope.
- Prepares patients for exams and explains procedures.
- Follows strict guidelines about usage of radiographic equipment.
- Elicits patient data and explains radiologic procedures.
- Works with critically ill patients while maintaining patient privacy.
- Performs record keeping duties.
- Assigns imaging studies to medical chart numbers.
- Assists RRT (Registered Rad Tech) with patient call backs and screening questionnaires.
Requirements
- Must meet state limited x-ray machine operator requirements for location of practice.
- In South Dakota, Sanford requires completion and passing of the Radiology Education Online.
- Maintain certification through CEUs: 12 credits required every 24 months, to be provided by the supervisor.
- Compliance with current LXMO policy.
Pay
Salary Range: $22.50 - $36.00 per hour
