About the role
The CT Technologist at Altru Hospital is responsible for ensuring that a written physician order is received before an exam performance and collecting pertinent information. They also review exams on the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), check for quality and completeness, and complete all necessary paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient and family education to optimize understanding within scope of responsibility.
- Affirms that a proper order is received prior to an exam performance and collects pertinent information.
- Aids the Radiologist/physician with patient exams and notifies them of any changes that may alter exam protocol and performance.
- Reviews images for quality and completeness and verifies that all images are on PACS with appropriate paperwork scanned in.
- Demonstrates regard for patient's safety and comfort during transportation, immobilization, and positioning of patient.
- Prepares pharmaceutical vials for injection, calculates and measures dosage accurately, and administers orally or by intravenous injection (IV) the correct diagnostic or therapeutic dosage and completes all required records.
- Maintains accurate and complete record of all material received, dispensed, decayed, and disposed of.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Requirements
- Radiographer, North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners, Prior to Start Date
- Radiographer, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Within 6 Months of Start Date
- Computed Tomography, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Within 24 Months of Start Date
- Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association (AHA), Within 90 Days of Start Date

- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
