STV is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Water practice in Waco, Texas. This role is ideal for a licensed PE with approximately 6+ years of experience who is ready to take the next step in project management while continuing to contribute technically to municipal water and wastewater projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Serve as a technical lead or design engineer on water/wastewater projects, including pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, treatment facilities, and utility improvements.
- Assist project managers with scope, schedule, budget tracking, staffing coordination, and client communication.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, technical memoranda, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications.
- Coordinate with internal design teams, subconsultants, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Support quality control reviews and ensure project deliverables meet STV standards and client requirements.
- Participate in client meetings, project status updates, and design coordination meetings.
- Assist with construction phase services, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field observations.
- Support business development efforts through proposal input, project approach development, and client relationship support.
- Mentor junior engineers and EITs by providing technical guidance and review.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer license in Texas.
- Approximately 6+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
- Experience with municipal water and wastewater infrastructure design.
- Working knowledge of project delivery, design standards, permitting, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project delivery in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working with municipalities, water districts, or public sector clients preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with water/wastewater pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment plant improvements, or utility rehabilitation projects.
- Prior experience supporting project management responsibilities such as budgets, schedules, client updates, and team coordination.
- Familiarity with TCEQ requirements and Texas municipal utility standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling, or related design software.
- Interest in growing into a full Project Manager role.
Pay
$89,487.93 - $102,271.92
