WS - Project Manager
About the role

The Project Manager will execute, monitor/control, and close the back-end construction phases of custom complex construction projects. You will interact with customers, customer representatives, local officials, vendors, and other project stakeholders to ensure high success rates and profitability.
Responsibilities
Project Support
- Interpret plans, estimates, and quantities of materials needed
- Execute on approved plans, estimates, and procurement of work plan
- Review contractor quotations and complete purchase requisitions
- Identify and solicit potentially new subcontractors
- Execute on planned construction budgets, procedures, and schedules
- Review bidding and contract documents for adherence to requirements
- Examine building contract documents and negotiate change orders with building owners and subcontractors
- Drive cost savings and value engineering to reduce project costs and increase margin
- Provide documentation of construction progress (shop drawings, manpower, project forecast, schedules, delays, changes, payments)
- Supervise construction sites and direct project superintendents and subcontractors to maintain standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules, and safety
- Coordinate site and off-site activities for personnel and vendors, including project schedules, work activities, material flows, and coordination with customers and vendors
- Approve payment to subcontractors by valuation of completed work
- Enforce building regulations, standards, and by-laws in building operations
- Track and manage pre-established project budget through final completion
- Ensure project documentation and processes are maintained
- Consult with architects, engineers, and technical workers to meet design intentions
- Identify problems and/or risk issues; recommend and implement solutions
- Communicate cost, schedule, and issue status to customers and stakeholders
- Monitor and document job site safety programs
- Develop business rapport with customers and act as liaison to ensure customer satisfaction
- Establish rapport with existing subcontractors and manufacturers of modular products
- Manage projects using SAP, Procore, and Salesforce
- Expedite change orders, maintain change order logs, and ensure work completion
- Drive Net Promoter Score (NPS) and customer satisfaction related to project execution and installation
- Coordinate project close-outs, substantial completions, customer hand-offs, and payments
Customer Service
- Communicate WillScot capabilities while managing client expectations
- Sell modular solutions and educate customers on-site during projects
- Review proposed sites, existing conditions/utilities, and physical restrictions
- Communicate project progress efficiently and effectively
- Provide ongoing support for completed projects
Sales Support
- Maintain constant dialogue regarding market/industry trends, customers, and new opportunities
- Communicate status on bids/proposals in progress and customer interactions
- Communicate project progress and cost management
Other Duties
- Assist in pre-construction technical support, including supporting Sales Representatives in generating new projects and opportunities
- Effectively manage and perform the project take-off process
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience in construction management-related activities
Skills and Abilities
- Proven abilities in project management, estimating, and cost tracking
- Successful skills in negotiating construction and subcontractor contracts
- PC proficiency in Windows environment and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working in SAP, Procore, and Salesforce
- Ability to use construction management/project management software effectively
- Ability to delineate subcontractor scopes of work
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail in company processes and procedures
- Extensive travel required (regional travel at least 50%; frequency of overnight travel dependent on geographical territory)

Preferred Education and Experience
- BS or AS in a Construction-related field (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering)
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Experience in Modular Construction
- Experience as a job site supervisor
- Ability to perform effective blueprint take-offs
- Proficiency in MS Project or other construction scheduling software
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit and move about the work environment, including corporate offices, field offices, and work sites with uneven surfaces
- Must be able to communicate constantly and effectively in person, by phone, or via web-enabled platforms
- Extensive regional travel and some national travel required
Pay
Base Wage Range: $110,600.00 - $155,800.00. Individual rates are based on factors such as degrees or certifications, skill level, years of experience, and include considerations for expected overtime and variable compensation (e.g., bonus or commission).
