About the role
Support Organic Chemistry labs by preparing materials, guiding students, and upholding lab safety. Ideal for students with strong lab skills, attention to detail, and a passion for chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate schedule changes in advance, and wear appropriate attire
- Assist with lab set-up, including making standard solutions and unknowns; operate lab instrumentation independently
- Assist students and answer questions during lab; support inclusivity in a diverse setting
- Manage databases for the chemistry department
- Modify or create handouts for chemistry classes
- Type information, concepts, and formulas to assist students
- Clean glassware in the chemistry laboratories
- Create highly engaging PowerPoint slides, including embedded media and animation
- Ensure all safety regulations are followed by students and self
- Ensure the lab is clean and the equipment is returned and powered off after sessions
- Provide clerical support, proofreading, photocopying, and filing; assist with projects as assigned
- Prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines successfully
- Perform other duties as determined by the supervisor

Pay
