Writing Center Learner Labs Manager
About The Role
The Manager, Learner Labs is a strategic leader who owns the vision, performance, and growth of Nightingale's academic support labs — including the Writing Center, Math Lab, and future learner resource programs. This is a people leadership role at its core: you'll guide a team of academic staff (including Assistant Professors), shape how learners access support, and drive measurable outcomes that connect directly to learner success and persistence.
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership: Own the vision, roadmap, and annual priorities for learner labs in alignment with broader Learner Resources goals. Translate institutional strategy into lab-level initiatives, outcomes, and performance measures. Lead the design, launch, evaluation, and scaling of learner lab programs and delivery models.
People Leadership: Directly supervise, coach, and manage performance for learner lab staff and faculty. Set expectations for instructional quality, learner engagement, and workload. Lead hiring, onboarding, and professional development for your team. Oversee scheduling and capacity planning across all labs.
Operations & Quality: Own learner lab performance metrics and accountability for outcomes. Implement quality assurance processes to ensure consistency, equity, and effectiveness. Ensure compliant, learner-centered operations across all lab services. Present performance updates, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with faculty, learner success teams, and other functions to address learner needs and improve persistence and completion rates. Represent learner labs in institutional projects and working groups. Ensure learners are consistently informed about available resources and support pathways.
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited institution, at least 2 years of experience in an educational environment, proficiency in web-based communication platforms and Microsoft tools, familiarity with virtual reference services (chat, email, videoconferencing).
Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of supervisory experience, experience in resource or curriculum development, background in teaching, tutoring, or coaching.
