About the role

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Writer to join our team. You will write and copy-edit news stories, tailor content for multiplatform distribution, translate accurately from English to Spanish, revise spelling for graphics and supers, react quickly to breaking news, and provide updates for shows, websites, and social media channels. A strong command of editorial standards, ethics, and legal matters pertaining to broadcast is essential.

Responsibilities

• Write and copy-edit news stories
• Tailor content for multiplatform distribution (broadcast, digital, social)
• Translate content accurately from English to Spanish
• Revise spelling for graphics and supers
• React quickly to breaking news and provide show news updates
• Provide content for the station’s websites and social media channels
• Maintain strong command of editorial standards, ethics, and legal matters

Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience in a major news market
• Working knowledge of newsroom operation systems (iNews, vizRT)
• Bilingual with fluent writing ability in Spanish and English
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
