About the role
The Grant Writer II will assist in preparing and submitting grant applications for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from federal, state, local, corporate, foundation, and private agencies. Working closely with the Director of Grants Development, Senior Grant Writers, and program staff, this role ensures proposals are compelling, comprehensive, and aligned with AltaMed’s mission. The Grant Writer II coordinates and manages the proposal development process, including soliciting information from partners and crafting narratives and budgets. This position may also proactively seek funding opportunities for leadership approval and develop concept papers showcasing best practices to expand and enhance AltaMed initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and submission of grant applications in response to RFPs from various agencies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Grants Development, Senior Grant Writers, and program staff to create compelling and mission-aligned proposals.
- Coordinate and manage the proposal development process, including leading internal and external partner teams.
- Solicit information from partners and craft proposal narratives and budgets.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of comprehensive applications by RFP deadlines.
- Proactively identify and present new funding opportunities to leadership for approval.
- Develop concept papers that explain and showcase best practices for AltaMed initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Health, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing and non-profit development.
Pay
$74,611.99 - $93,265.00 annually. Actual salary offers consider factors such as budget, experience, skills, education, licensure, certifications, and business needs. This range is subject to change and may include discretionary bonuses or incentives.
