About the role
The Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice is a grassroots human rights nonprofit in Olympia, Washington. This is an unpaid volunteer role of a few hours per week, mostly remote, with occasional in-person work in Olympia.
Responsibilities
We are looking for writers and editors to help the foundation make its case and tell its own story. Available roles include:
- Grant Writer: research funders and draft proposals that pay for the work
- Development Writer: donor appeals, thank-you letters, and campaign copy
- Newsletter Editor: shape and edit the email newsletter that goes to our supporters
- Policy Writer: briefs and public statements on the issues we work on
- Technical Writer: clear internal documentation and procedures
- Archive and Story Writer: our archive, and the stories behind our projects
Qualifications and Benefits
Students: academic credit and work-study placements are available through The Evergreen State College, Saint Martin's University, and South Puget Sound Community College.
