Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current Florida Educator Certification or willingness to obtain an Athletic Coaching Certification.
- Online application including references on file (this does not apply to current CCPS staff).
Athletic Coaching Certification
The Florida Department of Education issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates:
- 3‑Year Temporary Certificate – issued only to give a coach the opportunity to complete the requirements for the 5‑Year Certificate; it is not renewable.
- 5‑Year Athletic Coaching Certificate.
Coaches who are paid a supplement from the school district but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator Certificate, as well as volunteer coaches who are employees of Collier County Public Schools without such certificates, need to obtain this certification. Current teachers with a valid teaching certification do not need to obtain an athletic coaching certification.
