About the role

Process metal components to specifications (e.g., clean, deburr, polish, strengthen, finish to size).

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, set-up, operate, monitor various metal processing and finishing equipment (e.g., lorcos, washers, Jensen Dryers, shot peens, harperizers, swecos, molycote tumbler, Saturn 2900, etc.).
• Maintain accurate processing reports.
• Transport material to and from designated areas.

Requirements

• Receive instructions from supervisors, follow routing tickets and implement manufacturing specifications.
• Transport material using appropriate equipment (fork trucks, hand trucks, hand carts, electric hoists).
• Use semi-complicated gauging equipment and computer-operated interface panels with graphic displays.
• Complete SPC requirements.
• Disassemble/reassemble specific parts on equipment.
• Perform mathematical computations involving decimals.
• Make routine decisions based on specific criteria to meet manufacturing standards.
• Interpret and explain information for interpersonal relations.
• Perform work in accordance with a wide range of safety procedures.
• Handle heavy physical exertion.
• Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices, and training per BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual (use of required equipment, protective devices, clothing).
• Take precautions to prevent accidents and illnesses; report injuries or dangerous situations to immediate supervisor.
