Specialty Intructor - Dance/Tumbling

About the role

The Specialty Instructor - Dance/Tumbling position is responsible for the tumbling program design and implementation for ages 5-12 years old. This includes developing and presenting tumbling classes, instructing participants in skills and techniques, and ensuring safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and present tumbling classes for ages 5-12 years old.
• Prepare course descriptions and procure all necessary class materials.
• Instruct participants in tumbling skills and the code of conduct.
• Ensure safety awareness and practices at all times.
• Assist in marketing and evaluating assigned programs.
• Makes recommendations and provides feedback for class/program improvement.
• Monitor enrollment numbers of existing and future classes.
• Communicate directly with parents through verbal and electronic means.
• Aid in the cleaning and maintenance of the program area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• College degree related to specialty area or experience as tumbling or gymnastic coach or instructor.
• CPR Certification preferred or must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of various forms of dance such as ballet, modern dance, jazz, tap, and hip-hop.
• Ability to work with younger student populations.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in an indoor setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The City of Golden is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
