About the Role

The Wraparound Coach provides coaching, mentoring, and quality improvement support to Wraparound Care Coordinators (WCCs) to ensure high-fidelity implementation of the Wraparound model in accordance with Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR), and BestCare standards. The Wraparound Coach promotes professional development through individual and group coaching, direct observation, documentation review, and performance feedback while supporting culturally responsive, family-driven, strengths-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with Wraparound Supervisor at least monthly.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the core elements of Fidelity Wraparound, including the ten Wraparound principles, the four phases of Wraparound, and the activities associated with each phase.
  • Provide coaching to Wraparound Care Coordinators as follows:
    • For WCCs with less than one year of Wraparound experience:
      • 20 hours of individual coaching, 10 hours of group coaching, and five hours of document review within one year of the WCC's hire date, using the coaching model approved by the Division.
      • At least 5 of the 20 hours of individual coaching shall occur within the 90-day period before the WCC receives the Division-approved foundational training; if the training is unavailable or the WCC cannot attend within the first 90 days, the WCC must receive biweekly individual coaching until the training occurs.
      • Within the first twelve months, observe four Wraparound team meetings for each WCC, including one meeting representing each phase of the Wraparound process.
    • For WCCs with at least one year of Wraparound experience: provide 10 hours of individual coaching, 10 hours of group coaching, and two to four Wraparound team meeting observations within one calendar year.
  • Utilize and document the coaching plan created with the Wraparound coach, including names of the Coach and WCC, date, and content of the coaching session.
  • Create documentation demonstrating that coaching is responsive to diverse cultural beliefs, practices, languages, learning styles, and communication, as evidenced by written feedback from WCC and Wraparound Supervisor.
  • Be available to provide coaching to bilingual WCCs in the language spoken by the family and observe meetings or perform document review in the family's primary language without impacting the youth or family.
  • Seek additional resources when the Coach lacks shared lived experience to provide culturally responsive coaching to a WCC.
  • Be rater-certified in the use of Division-approved assessment tools for ages 0-5 and 6-20.
  • Ensure a coaching plan is written for each WCC, Family Partner, and Youth Partner per the Division-approved Coaches and Supervisor training.
  • Perform work in alignment with BestCare’s mission, vision, and values.

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality per HIPAA, 42 CFR, and Oregon Statutes.
  • Attend required program/staff meetings and complete assigned training timely and satisfactorily.
  • Ensure required certifications and/or licenses are kept current and renewed timely.
  • Work independently as well as participate as a positive, collaborative team member.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • For individuals in recovery from substance-use disorder, must have maintained continuous recovery for the previous two years at the time of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or related field; master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Wraparound Care Coordinator.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Fidelity Wraparound, including the ten principles and four phases.

Qualifications

  • Complete Division-approved Wraparound Coaches and Supervisors training within 90 days of hire.
  • Maintain Division-approved rater certification for required assessment tools.
  • Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License or ability to obtain one upon hire, and be insurable under the organization’s auto liability coverage policy (minimum 21 years of age and with no Type A violations in the past 3 years, or three or more Type B violations).

Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), EHR platform, databases, virtual meeting platforms, and internet; ability to learn new or updated software.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required by HIPAA, 42 CFR, and Oregon Statutes.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to function well and use good judgment in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict resolution and anger/fear/hostility/violence of others appropriately and effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as participate as a positive, collaborative team member.
