About the role
The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) is seeking a fellow to enhance their scientific background and gain experience in research and development (R&D) innovations. The fellow will engage in the R&D from discovery through product development using their scientific knowledge and gain extensive new understanding of biomedical sciences.
Responsibilities
- Enhance scientific background and gain experience in R&D innovations under the guidance of a mentor.
- Evaluate, analyze, and apply biomedical technologies and scientific innovation.
- Engage in the R&D process from discovery through product development.
- Gain extensive new understanding of biomedical sciences.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have an earned master's or doctoral degree in biomedical research fields (biology, chemistry, pharmacology, microbiology and other eligible STEM disciplines).
- Degree must have been received within five years of the appointment start date.
- Ideal candidates will have a competitive academic performance (reflected in academic transcripts), research and communication (oral and written) skills, and demonstrated capacity for creative thinking.
Qualifications
- Master's or doctoral degree in biomedical research fields (biology, chemistry, pharmacology, microbiology and other eligible STEM disciplines).

Pay
$65,000.00 – $75,000.00 yearly
Schedule
This is a twelve-month research appointment, with the possibility to be renewed for additional research periods. Appointments may be extended depending on funding availability, project assignment, program rules, and availability of the participant.
