Location: Wound Healing Center - Bluffton Medical Plaza, 75 Baylor Drive, Suite 190, Bluffton, SC 29910
Status: Part Time
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 3 days a week (no weekends, call, or major holidays)
About the Role
Wounds we regularly treat include:
- Venous leg ulcers
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Arterial ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Non-healing surgical wounds
- Non-healing traumatic wounds
- Burns
Wound care services and treatments we offer include:
- Diabetic foot care
- Compression therapy
- Negative pressure wound therapy
- Bioengineered skin substitutes
- Bedside wound debridement
- Advanced wound care products
- Limb preservation services
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive wound assessments (measuring size, tracking healing, assessing infection) and implement treatment plans, including cleaning and complex dressing changes.
- Perform specialized procedures such as debridement, application of specialized dressings, and management of negative pressure wound therapy.
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound management at home, prevention of future injuries, infection risk management, and equipment handling.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records, update care plans, and collaborate with physicians, vascular specialists, and other care team members.
- Provide routine diabetic foot assessments and preventive care for patients with diabetes.
- Safely operate, clean, and manage inventory for specialized wound care equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Education: 2-Year / Associate Degree (required); 4-Year / Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- Experience: 2 years (required).
- Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in the appropriate state (required); Wound Certification (preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide care with minimal supervision.
