Wound Care Educator-RN - Main Wound Healing - PRN - Days

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Purchasing Department in the research and selection of evidence-based products.
• Makes recommendations for specialty bed utilization.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to develop policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Presents at and participates in interdepartmental and Shared Governance Council meetings.
• Maintains and monitors patient and organizational wound ostomy outcomes.
• Coordinates and participates in the collection of data for prevalence surveys.
• Provides formal and informal continuing education programs, clinical rounds, lunch and learn sessions, orientation sessions, etc.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support Certification
• Advanced clinical knowledge
• Application of the education process
• Application of nursing research process
• Problem-solving abilities with complex systems
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Completion of an accredited wound ostomy education program
• Two years of relevant experience
• Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) from the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN)
• Holds a current license in the state of Ohio
