Responsibilities
- Works closely with Purchasing Department in the research and selection of evidence-based products.
- Makes recommendations for specialty bed utilization.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to develop policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Presents at and participates in interdepartmental and Shared Governance Council meetings.
- Maintains and monitors patient and organizational wound ostomy outcomes.
- Coordinates and participates in the collection of data for prevalence surveys.
- Provides formal and informal continuing education programs, clinical rounds, lunch and learn sessions, orientation sessions, etc.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Advanced clinical knowledge
- Application of the education process
- Application of nursing research process
- Problem-solving abilities with complex systems
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Completion of an accredited wound ostomy education program
- Two years of relevant experience
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) from the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN)
- Holds a current license in the state of Ohio
