About Our Church At Summerville Baptist Church, we believe ministry flows from a life abiding in Christ, as taught in John 15:5. Our desire is to see lives connected to Christ through worship, connected to the church through discipleship, and connected to the community through service. We are a biblically conservative Southern Baptist church with an average weekly attendance of approximately 250-300. We are a unified, multi-generational congregation that values both choir and praise team ministry, along with strong congregational singing and instrumental leadership in worship. Our heart is not to create a performance, but to lead God’s people into genuine, Christ-centered worship that is rooted in Scripture, engages both heart and mind, and encourages active participation from the entire congregation. Position Summary The Worship Pastor will serve as a spiritual leader who shepherds the congregation through Christ-centered, biblically grounded worship. This individual will provide leadership, oversight, and vision for all aspects of the worship ministry, including choir, praise team, vocalists, instrumentalists, and children’s music ministries (led by church volunteers). We are seeking someone who desires more than a position—we are looking for a pastor who will invest in our people, become part of our church family, and serve faithfully alongside our leadership for years to come. You will be joining a supportive and healthy pastoral team and a congregation that values and participates in worship. While experience in choir ministry is beneficial, we are primarily seeking a spiritually mature worship leader with a pastor’s heart. We value character, leadership, teachability, and a commitment to biblical worship more than extensive experience in every area of music ministry. We are willing to invest in and help develop the right candidate as he grows in this role.
