Worship Pastor

West Cabarrus Church is a Christ-centered church in Concord, North Carolina, that exists to glorify God by making more and better disciples from neighborhoods to nations. The church offers Sunday worship services at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM, along with ministries for children, students, and adults.

About the Role

The Worship Pastor will serve the church and help achieve its vision, mission, and goals by providing oversight and direction to all worship services and worship volunteers, allowing the Lead Pastor to focus on preaching, teaching, leadership, vision casting, and multiplication.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Pastoral Team to plan worship services.
• Lead the musical portion of worship services.
• Demonstrate proficiency in organizational software (preferably Planning Center).
• Develop a process to regularly identify and deploy new volunteers in the church’s worship ministry.
• Shepherd, train, manage, and care for the volunteer worship teams.
• Develop an annual worship ministry budget and work within that budget.
• Inspire non-musical worship for the church body (e.g., Lord’s Supper and Liturgy).
• Oversee the church’s worship tech ministry, including live-stream and in-house presentation of worship services.
• Manage a team of staff, freelance, and volunteer content creators and content managers (print, web, video, social media, etc.).
• Be available to preach and teach the Bible when asked.
• Participate in pastoral duties (officiating weddings and funerals, counseling, on-call, etc.) as needed.
• Attend all church staff meetings and retreats.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and some formal theological training is preferred.
• At least 5 years of ministry experience on staff in a leadership capacity at a local church.
• A growing personal relationship with Christ.
• Strong character, wisdom, and discernment.
• A lifestyle congruent with the Biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
• Fully supportive of the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.
• Significant skill as a singer and musician.
• Experience leading and managing teams.

Concord provides access to major metro conveniences, including professional sports (NFL, NBA, Minor League Baseball, NASCAR), beaches, and mountains within a three-hour drive, and the NC Zoological Park 1.5 hours away.
