World Language Teacher - Latin

The Lockport City School District is seeking a World Languages Teacher to join our district-wide team starting in the 2026/2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards and NY state assessments
• Proficiency with world language(s)
• The ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool
• Able to differentiate instruction for accelerated and delayed learners
• Flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to develop programs and collaborate with and support other staff
• Loyalty and evidence of being a team player and willingness to collaborate with staff
• Commitment to equity and inclusion of all members of the school community
• A strong understanding of the LCSD strategic plan and culturally responsive sustaining framework
• Proficiency with more than one foreign language - French, Spanish, Latin - strongly preferred
• A strong understanding of positive classroom management techniques

Requirements

• New York State certification in a World Language at the secondary level

The position is available for the 2026/2027 school year. Salary is competitive and based on the approved collective bargaining agreement. The closing date for applications is July 31st, 2026.
