About the Opportunity
A Fortune 500 restaurant chain is seeking an experienced workplace investigations professional (lawyer, paralegal, or other legal professional) to support restaurant-level employment investigations on a flexible, project-based basis. This is a 6 month engagement with potential extension starting as soon as possible, with the potential for variable workload depending on business needs. This engagement is designed to support both ongoing baseline coverage and periodic surge capacity, requiring availability to flex up or down as investigation volume changes. Investigators must be able to step in quickly, work independently, and deliver high-quality investigations with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace investigations involving workplace violence, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
- Perform investigations within a large, highly operational restaurant environment.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders throughout the investigation process.
- Operate within established company processes, systems, and culture.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations (employment & labor), ideally in high-volume or frontline environments
- Comfort interviewing restaurant or hourly employees and navigating sensitive situations
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly and handle matters with discretion
- Ability to work independently and manage investigations from intake through resolution
- Experience working within large organizational processes and systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting frontline or hourly workforces
- Background in restaurant, retail, hospitality, or other high-volume employee environments
Key Details
- Location: Remote
- Schedule: Part-time
- Duration: 6 month engagement (with potential extension)
- Compensation: $55 - $60 per hour
- This role requires a commitment of 20–30 hours per week, with the flexibility to scale up as needed.
- The selected candidate will be employed through an Employer of Record (EOR) for the duration of the engagement.
- The work is fully remote.
- The client's budget is approximately $60 per hour, however, they will consider candidates with higher or lower expectations.
