Workforce Manager

As a Workforce Manager, you’ll lead workforce planning, labor relations, and talent strategies across multiple states, ensuring skilled craft professionals are deployed where they are needed most to safely and successfully deliver complex industrial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Extend offers and ensure all related correspondence and onboarding requirements for craftspersons are met.
• Actively source candidates through a variety of channels to improve candidate quality and maintain a balanced pipeline for hard-to-fill roles.
• Work closely with the project team to review and understand project demands and needs.
• Ensure pre-employment testing is accurately completed.
• Identify training needs with project and field team members and coordinate safety training for new hires on each jobsite.
• Guide and coach supervisors through the progressive disciplinary process for craftspersons, including developing and delivering performance improvement plans and disciplinary strategies on employee-relations issues up to and including termination.
• Serve as a liaison between craft and management to resolve grievances and investigate employee issues.
• Analyze, understand, and manage temporary labor agencies.
• Advance issues that meet predefined criteria and use judgment to assess risk and sensitivity to determine when to escalate employee needs to management.
• Advise management on matters related to the administration of temporary labor agencies.

Qualifications

• Craftsperson certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Certificate in negotiation or equivalent experience preferred.
• 10 years of progressive experience in a lead hand/foreperson role and/or labor relations or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to effectively lead a team comprising craft recruiters, workforce specialists, and workforce supervisors.
• Trusted advisor with outstanding relationship leadership skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners and handle confidential information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and present content and ideas that influence a favorable outcome.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with full-cycle recruitment and development of talent acquisition strategies.
• Knowledge of alcohol and drug testing protocol and laws.
• Experience building and implementing employee recruitment and relations strategies for the district.
• Experience with succession planning for departments and/or divisions.
• Validated critical-thinking skills.
