About the role
Workforce Trainers provide skills-based training and experiences in a traditional or non-traditional classroom setting and/or lab environment. The instruction provided will be specific to participants enrolled in Workforce Education offerings across the career continuum including, but not limited to career starters, career changes, and those seeking career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and levels of experience.
- Provide one-on-one mentorship and support to trainees, guiding them through complex and practical applications.
- Evaluate student performance to ensure they meet industry standards.
- Collaborate with industry partners to align training with current workforce needs.
- Prepare and/or select education materials and assist with the development and/or evaluation of new curricula and program designs.
- Conduct hands-on training and evaluate student performance to ensure they meet industry standards.
- Participate in training needs assessment using various techniques.
- Conduct interactive and engaging training for individuals, groups, and companies using alternative and non-traditional methodologies appropriate and effective for working with adult learners.
- Make recommendations on updating training materials to reflect current industry practices and technological advancements.
Requirements
- College degree in related field OR industry-recognized credential in discipline of instruction OR equivalent work-related experience in a manufacturing-related environment.
- Previous experience in training or education is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with schematics, ladder diagrams, troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, demonstrating training techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems, safety principles.
Skills
- Proficiency with technology, including e-curriculum and tabletop trainers to demonstrate hands-on exercises.
