Workforce Development Manager
About the role
The Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS), Office of Rural Health and Primary Care (ORHPC) is seeking a full-time Workforce Development Manager.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with organizations and facilities to apply for Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) designations where needed to improve access to healthcare.
- Assess the existing workforce’s capacity to meet the medical, dental, and mental health services needs in Missouri.
- Provide technical assistance to practitioners, attorneys, and other stakeholders, assisting those working to increase access to primary care services and reduce health disparities.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines on all program activities, grant requirements, and contract deliverables, including contract development and monitoring compliance.
- Submit timely progress reports, ongoing status updates, along with grant and administrative reports.
- Maintain knowledge of State and Federal regulations and statutes related to Primary Care Office programs.
- Responsible for some statewide and national travel.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (substitutions may be allowed).
- Three or more years of professional experience in public health, mental health, environmental health, education, social services, public or business administration, health care, and/or health care administration.
- The ideal candidate will possess or quickly gain knowledge of statutes and regulations related to all ORHPC programs and those supported by the ORHPC office.
- The candidate should possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and time management skills.
- The candidate will be working in a team environment which requires emotional intelligence and a professional demeanor when interacting with co-workers and all stakeholders.
- The ideal candidate will be able to operate in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and the ability to multi-task using various computer software programs.
- Possess knowledge of individual and community health problems related to public health programs.
- Have the ability to work with considerable independence performing a wide range of duties to support the program.
- Possess expertise in Microsoft Excel and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

The position requires some statewide and national travel.
