About the role

The Workforce Development Manager leads the company’s workforce development strategy by building talent pipelines, developing employees, supporting apprenticeship initiatives, leading talent acquisition, and fostering community partnerships. Working with operational leadership, this position strengthens succession planning, employee retention, and workforce readiness to support current operations and future growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead workforce development, apprenticeship oversight, career pathways, succession planning, and employee development initiatives aligned with company goals.
  • Partner with operational leadership to identify workforce needs, close skill gaps, and strengthen long-term workforce readiness.
  • Measure workforce effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting, manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and develop recruiting strategies that support organizational growth.
  • Partner with divisional leaders to identify, evaluate, and hire qualified candidates.
  • Develop relationships with schools, workforce agencies, trade organizations, veterans’ organizations, and community partners.
  • Develop onboarding, mentoring, leadership development, and retention initiatives that improve employee engagement and long-term success.
  • Facilitate training programs, administer or obtain DiSC® and EQ-i® certifications, and develop technical training and communication materials.
  • Represent MB HAYNES in community outreach efforts that strengthen the company’s workforce pipeline and employer brand.
  • Support workforce planning, monitor labor trends, prepare workforce metrics, and recommend strategies that support company growth and expansion.
  • Promote and model the MB HAYNES Core Values.

Requirements

  • Five (5)+ years of experience in workforce development, talent acquisition, training, organizational development, human resources, education, or a related field.
  • Construction, industrial, manufacturing, or skilled trades experience preferred.
  • Experience with workforce initiatives, recruiting, applicant tracking systems, career pathways, and employee development.
  • Strong facilitation, technical writing, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • DiSC® and EQ-i® certifications preferred or willingness to obtain.
