About the role

Under the direction of the Manager, provides safe and appropriate basic patient care to assist in the delivery of care to patients, supporting a safe and positive patient experience. This role supports daily imaging operations across both inpatient and outpatient settings to improve staff productivity, optimize room utilization, and ensure efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Help ensure adequate staffing resources to support patient volume and departmental needs within established budgetary guidelines.
  • Assist patients and Diagnostic Imaging staff during procedures by helping to position patients, helping patients dress/undress, and answering routine patient questions.
  • Observe patients and report changes in patient condition to appropriate department staff.
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow through daily collaboration with MDs, clinical team, and transporters.
  • Assist technologists in the day-to-day operations of the department by maintaining supply levels in rooms and operating and monitoring equipment to reduce downtime.
  • Provide reception duties for the Medical Imaging department and its support staff.
  • Maintain annual health stream compliance.
  • Participate in the department quality, safety, and compliance initiatives.
  • Participate in and/or lead daily huddles to review staffing levels, anticipated volumes, OR cases, and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for real-time workflow adjustments throughout the day.
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks across inpatient, outpatient, and OR environments and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support quality, safety, patient experience, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Coordinate patient transport and procedural readiness to minimize delays across care settings.
  • Track and report daily imaging volumes, throughput, room utilization, and workflow metrics.
  • Assist Radiologists, surgeons, anesthesiology teams, and ordering providers by facilitating communication and prioritization of studies.
  • Support intraoperative imaging workflows, including coordination of equipment availability and case sequencing.
  • Assist radiation safety officer as the dosimetry subaccount coordinator to ensure radiation safety compliance and conduct orientations in accordance with the HHC radiation safety program.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Associate degree.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a high-volume work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with scheduling systems; EPIC preferred.
