About the role
Our client is an extremely well-known national defense litigation firm with 12 offices across the country.
Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity.
- Prepare legal documents and reports with a high level of accuracy.
- Conduct depositions of claimants, medical personnel, and other relevant parties.
- Represent employers and carriers before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
- Conduct and direct legal research to stay updated on current workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in conjunction with claims adjusters.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the State Bar.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
- Proven track record in conducting depositions and trials.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and tasks.
- Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
