About the role

AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity-driven professional to join our Pennsylvania-based (Allentown, Philadelphia, or Reading areas) Workers Compensation Claims Team. In this position, you will conduct on-site and in-person investigations, determine compensability, establish reserves, document decision-making, issue benefit payments, and make notifications to the State administrative authority. You will collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical and legal professionals to ensure appropriate benefits are provided under Workers’ Compensation Laws.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site and in-person investigations
  • Determine compensability of claims
  • Establish and manage reserves
  • Document decision-making processes
  • Issue benefit payments
  • Notify the State administrative authority as required
  • Work with injured workers, employers, medical, and legal professionals
  • Maintain a target caseload of 60 claims
  • Frequent travel within a designated territory (rarely overnight)

Requirements

  • Workers’ Compensation Claims experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or related professional business experience acceptable
  • State license to handle Workers’ Compensation claims, if required
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • World-class customer service attitude
  • Ability to learn and use proprietary software and Microsoft Office products
  • Self-directed and able to work remotely
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and acceptable vehicle

Benefits

  • Salaried position with pay based on location and experience ($50,000 to $95,000)

Pre-employment screening

Upon offer and acceptance of employment, you will be required to complete pre-employment screening, including:

  • A criminal background check
  • A 10-panel drug test (amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene)
  • A review of your motor vehicle report, if applicable

Note: All positions requiring driving for the company are considered safety-sensitive.
